Level 2 Qualification in Door Supervision
This four day course is structured around the SIA specification for core competency training for Door Supervisors. It covers the necessary understanding and skills required by individuals who wish to work in the licensed/leisure industries.
The course now consists of the following four core modules:
- Working in the Private Security Industry
- Working as a Door Supervisor
- Conflict Management
- Physical Intervention
Level 2 Qualification in Conflict Management
This one day course is a stand alone unit designed for those persons wishing to learn the skills and be better prepared for managing challenging and sometimes dangerous conflict scenarios both in the workplace and outside of it.
Crime Scene Preservation
This training is aimed at anyone who works in the licensed trade or anyone else who may wish to learn more about what the police and licensing authorities expect from you in case an establishment becomes a crime scene. We deliver a standardized program or we can bespoke it and offer consultancy to help you produce recording systems, incident reports and other advice that will put you firmly in the good books of the Local Licensing Authority.
Physical Intervention Training

What does it consist of?
Physical intervention skills may be needed in some workplaces to manage challenging behaviour safely. Abacus delivers both Maybo Licensed and bespoke Physical Intervention Skills which are based on natural movements that do not rely on strength or aggression. These non-violent skills have been legally and medically reviewed and have earned considerable credibility across different sectors. This module based training varies from Disengagement Techniques to more advanced Rescue Techniques, Escorting Methods through to Holding Skills.
Throughout the course we will examine:
- The requirement to use non-physical skills as far as possible
- The law in relation to 'Reasonable Force' and 'Self Defence'
- The value of assessing a situation before intervening
- Using Physical Intervention as a last resort
- Possible medical implications
- The potential legal implications of the techniques
- Disengagement techniques
- Escorting and Guiding Skills/Holding Skills Tailored to sectors
